First Responders

Being a hero is hard. The stress and trauma of the job can make it difficult to cope with everyday life. A SAMHSA report states First Responders are 3 times more likely to suffer from Substance Use Disorders (SUD) than the national average. Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, SUD, and suicidal ideation are some of the behavioral health consequences considered as occupational risks. Heritage CARES can reduce the effects of occupational risks and trauma and gives First Responders someone to call when they need a hero of their own.
